Do you know about the "Mini-Reunion" being held later this year in Virginia
Beach, Virginia ?
Here's the background....
It's being organized by member Len Kafer (and his lovely wife, Paula) for
the group of sailors who were stationed in Derry during the late 1950's and
early 1960's. But, they always invite ALL members who might wish to join them in
the fun. I've attended both of their previous reunions, and they are a great
bunch of guys, and they do know how to throw a great party!
The dates are Wednesday, October 18, through Saturday, October 21, 2006.
The headquarter's hotel will be The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, at 3900
Atlantic Ave, located right on the beach.
More information regarding the cost and the various events for this
Mini-Reunion will be forthcoming from Len Kafer once he arrives back here in the
states in mid-June from a trip to Europe. I just wanted to give you a "heads-up"
about it, so you could make early reservations if you plan on
attending.
You can make your room reservations by calling the hotel (1-757-428-1711,
or 1-800-315-2621), or using the Holiday Inn toll-free number: 1-800-holiday.
Kafer has a group of rooms blocked, so if you mention Derry, they should give
you the group rate (which is $69.00 I think, but check to be sure), though there
may be cheaper rates available, like retired military ($62.00), so be sure to
check that, as well, if you are eligible.
