ZANE CURTIS JOSEPH ZANE "Casey" Capt. USN (Ret.) On Saturday, October 17, 2009 of McLean, VA; beloved husband of the late Dorothy Dix Zane; loving father of Susan Zane Falls, Pamela Kay Zane and Curtis John "CJ" Zane; cherished grandfather of Sharyn Falls Dennis, Diana Falls Ralston, Curtis Kavanagh Zane, Joseph Hardy Zane and Sarah Wade Zane; dear great-grandfather of Nathan Reed Dennis, Lauren Falls Dennis, Graham Stephen Dennis, Juliette Ryan Ralston and Zane Michael Ralston. Casey Zane served our nation as a U.S. Naval Aviator and Communications Officer for nearly 30 years. He served in the South Pacific during WWII and the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and other important operations. A 40 year resident of McLean, VA, Casey had a second career along with his beloved wife, Dorothy "Dickie" Zane as a Real Estate Broker from the early 1970s through the 1990s. Casey lived life to the fullest and was generous and loving to his family and friends. Friends may call at MURPHY FALLS CHURCH FUNERAL HOME, 1102 W. Broad St. (Rt. 7) on Wednesday, October 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Beloved, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA 22101. Interment Arlington National Cemetery Tuesday, January 5, at 3 p.m. Please meet at the Administration Building by 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph Street, suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203.
