Maureen Bauschka

1944-2013

Maureen Bauschka, 69, a resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Maureen was born in Derry City, Northern Ireland on March 20, 1944 to the late Patrick and Isabella McGrory (Nee Toland). In her early adult life she worked in the clothing factories of Derry City, before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Gordon Bauschka. After their marriage they would travel the world while he served in the U. S. Navy. As well as being stationed in Ireland, they were also stationed in several different European countries and areas in the United States. One of her favorite times came when they were stationed in Morocco, and they drove from Kenitra Morocco to Northern Ireland seeing much of Europe. While Gordon was serving in the Navy, Maureen worked for the Navy Exchange throughout her career, finally retiring in Pensacola following over thirty years of service. Throughout her career she was awarded numerous awards as Employee of the month, quarter and even Employee of the Year. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Isabella McGrory (Nee Toland); one brother, Paddy McGrory; two sisters, Kathleen Martin (Nee McGrory) and Jean Williams (Nee McGrory). She is survived by her husband of forty six years, Gordon Bauschka; daughter, Lynda Bauschka Stier (Jon); grandchildren, Jonathon Stier, Isabella Stier; one sister, Bernadette MacFarland (James); two brothers, James McGrory (Renee'), John McGrory (Jeanette); and one sister-in-law, Sandra Keller (Lewis). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be: Lewis Keller, James McGrory, John McGrory, Jon Stier, Bob Faught and Jonathon Stier. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from St. Anne's Catholic Church, 5200 Saufley Field Road, Pensacola, FL at 12:15pm. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
