Ronnie Cleo Kelley, 66, of Chesnee, and former resident of Mayport, FL, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in Oslo Norway. Born July 31, 1945, in Greer, SC, he was the son of the late Robert David and Tenala Mae Jenkins Kelley.
Mr. Kelley retired as a Chief Radioman from the U. S. Navy after 24 years of service. He also retired from the U. S. Foreign Service after 20+ years and continued to perform contract work until his death. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Men of Prayer, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Carmen Antonia Morales Kelley of Chesnee; his son, Jeffrie A. Kelley of Chesnee; granddaughter, Sierra Skye Kelley of Chesnee; brothers, Robert Freddie Kelley of Greenville and James Michael Kelley of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Antonia Kelley.
A Rosary prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, visitation will follow until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Medical Misson Board, 10 West 17th Street, New York, NY 10011 for the benefit of Mother of Mercy Hospital and the work of Dr. Tom Catena.
